Liam's swim lessons

Here are the photos I took of Liam enjoying his first official swim lesson at the YMCA about a month ago, now.

Here he is at his very own locker (he continues to put his clothes and shoes in this specific locker each time because he's my good little boy).

His pants got a little wet from apple juice in the care but he could care less because he was off to swim in the 'giant bathtub'! That was the only way I could describe the pool to him ahead of time. I think he got the idea anyway.

Am I going to put on my Thomas the Train shorts yet? - No. Not yet Liam...

Elmo is on my swim diaper :) see?

Finally, the Thomas swim shorts are on...He had seen these in his drawer weeks earlier and kept pulling them out only for me to have to tell him that they were for swimming and that it was far too cold to wear shorts on a regular basis at this time of year.

...to the pool...

I love this photo!

During one part of the class, the kids lie on their bellies on those foam kickboards...Aunt E and Liam are blowing bubbles in the water, which is of course hilarious to a 2 year old.

Play time after the swim lesson...He just about always choosing the blue ball to play with. At this age, the class focuses on familiarizing the kids to the water and teaching them to be comfortable immersed in it. After a few classes, Liam decided he loves dunking his head under the water, so I think it worked.

Oh, how he will miss the pool until the next week.

How much does Liam weigh, you ask?

Just about 24 pounds! He's a shrimp and I love him.

We often go to the library after the lesson. It's a leisurely walk through the park and they have a storytime for kids. Liam enjoys the interaction with the other kids on saturdays and he recently got his own library card! Yay! Books are our dearest friends in our house and Liam is no exception.

Spring is here now and we're all very excited about the smell of grass and flowers and buds on the trees and mulch in the flower beds and seedlings emerging from the soil of our indoor seed starter containers. All is well in the world so long as there is life. God bless everyone :)
